What will be the expected percentile required for a good NIT in 2021's attempt of JEE MAINS ? (plz answer ASAP) (general category)
JEE Main: Chapter Wise Weightage | Syllabus | Most Scoring Topics: Jan | April| Test Series
Sample Papers 2027 : Physics | Chemistry | Maths | Inorganic Chemistry | PYQ's
New: CSAB 2026 Counselling CP | Free 1:1 Counselling | Last 5 Year Analysis (2026-2022)
Comprehensive Guide: IIT's | NIT's | IIIT's | Foreign Universities in India | Study Guide
Since the percentile and ranks for various NIT's keeps fluctuating from year to year it would be hard to predict the exact percentile or rank , but on the basis of cutoff of some previous years we can conclude that a percentile of around 98.5 to 100 and a rank below 6000-6500 can fetch you a good NIT . Better you score more you get the options for your desired college and branch.
You can check out the cutoff for various NIT's from the link given below-

Dear Aspirant,
As per the previous year trends and by our analysis the JEE Mains cut-off for next year would be around 90 percentile again. By clearing this percentile you can sit in JoSAA counselling and can run in race of getting NIT's , GFTI's and IIIT's . But still at this percentile you will not get any NIT.
To get a good branch in some top NIT you have to get nearly 99 percentile and above as a general categroy student . You can also check the cut-off of various NIT's branch wise . It will show you the seat intake of respective NIT's branch wise and category wise .Below is the link for rhat .

So if you are preparing JEE Mains next year then it would be better for you to study hard and get percentile upto 99.5% to get a good branch in some top NIT .
Hope this helps .
