If it is some engineering college, it is always advisable to apply after the results of JEE mains. You will be more clear about the prospective list of best colleges you can have as according to your rank in mains' exam. If you wait for the advance result(if in case you have taken the exam), it would be even better. Also, most of the colleges don't give admissions before the declaration of mains' exam result.
