You are supposed to upload it during the registration itself if you don't have a valid Gen ews document and must upload the original ( issued on or after april 1,2021) before October 2 ,2021 17:00 hrs IST according to their official portal.
Please cross check all the details multiple times before doing final submission as lot of students do mistakes while filling the form causing unnecessary stress later.

Candidates who are not able to upload a valid category certificate (for ALL categories) during registration, can upload a self-declaration in lieu of the same, and must upload the valid certificate at the time of reporting during JoSAA.
