Which branch should I prefer in btech from uptu college..if I want to go for IAS???
Hello Anamika,
IAS has a very tough and renowned exam for government services and IAS is a very high and respected post. To clear IAS exams is not a easy task and you have to work very hard.
I will suggest you to pursue BTech in mechanical or electrical branch if you further want to go for IAS as mostly many government services other than IAS ask for a graduate in Mechanical or Electrical branches so this will also open paths for you other government services.
Also for IAS mechanical and electrical engineering gives a lot of practical exposure with real life problems and also a graduate in mechanical or electrical is given a little bit of preference.
You should start preparing for IAS from beginning only and go to the college just for the sake of maintaining 75% attendance and only study well for the exams . Do most of the things by your own and do not depend on college and rest of the time devote to your IAS preparation. Do not get distracted at all.
Also you can do BTech in branches other than mechanical or electrical if you have a interest in computer programming or civil engineering there is no loss at all but then you have to work more and you will not be able to devote much time for yor IAS exams.
While preparing for IAS also prepare for its interview side by side and keep the knowledge of your core subjects very strong. Also you should be good at English.
First mentally prepare yourself as it needs lots of time and patience too.
Hope this helps.
If any queries feel free to ask .
All the best!!
Regards.
