which classes are backward class?
Hello Baisakhi Mondal,
Generally, Backward class is used to refer to OBCs ( Other Backward Classes).
OBCs are those who have and continue (although it has been reduced to great extent nowadays) to face oppression and social, economic and educational isolation, but do not fall under Scheduled Castes (SCs ) or Scheduled Tribes (STs).
Majorly, the Reservation System in India includes;
1. FC/GC: forward castes or General Caste
2. SC : scheduled castes
3. ST: scheduled tribes
4. OBC: other backward class
therefore, there has been implementation of many articles to safeguard the rights and give representation as well as opportunities to people belonging to this group as well as other castes like SC and ST.
Hope it helps!
