Which collages i will get with rank of 21000 in jee advanced of genera

Question

My JEE Mains rank is 30807 . Will I get a good NIT?? also my expected rank in JEE ADVANCED is 17000-21000 . will I get an IIT? ?

Hello Mathi,
I dont think at this rank you can get into any of the 23 IITs. Try for NITs, BITS, IIIT-H, IIITs or take an year drop. 21,000 is not bad. You can make your way to IITs by working hard.

NO, I will tell you why ,

As of 2017 there are around 10.5k seats available in IITs. NOw the thing is that if you belong to the general category you can afford a maximum of 10k (which is a poor one ofc) .

Even an OBC certifictee might not take you very far. Having a SC or ST certificate might help a bit but in vain(u wont get your choicest branch).

So unless you are a PWD case or you have a combo of reservations it is certainly impossible to get a seat .
