With your rank you can make it to some government college, if you have any quota or like freedom fighters certificate. Also there are 23 GFTI's which might intake students with your rank. Apply for JOSSA counseling positively. You might also go for all the NIT's with your top preferences. There are also some other very good private colleges. You can probably appear for the selection process of various NITs. Your score card is good and you must apply to one of those. Make the best of the opportunities coming your way and you would surely get one. You may even get branches as well of your choice in various rounds of counselling. All the best!
Nit; IIITs and other good colleges like DTU ; NSUT ; pec ; bits etc will be not possible to into these colleges.
Also it is not possible to get a good college from josaa counseling ; so you should go with some other colleges.
You have chance to get admission in low ranking nits ( in spot round ) not beneficial as much .
I would suggest you to take a drop and prepare well for the next year. But if you dong want to take drop you have to go with near by city college or in private colleges.
