For the top 3000 rank holders, non-core branches such as Metallurgical engineering, Material Science, Production engineering, branches related to new fields such as biotechnology, ocean engineering, textile engineering and some conventional branches such as civil and chemical engineering will be available at older IITs such as Roorkee and Delhi.
The core branches such as mechanical, civil, computer science can be expected in newer IITs (Dhanbad, Guwhati, Indore).
