So with regard to your query, generally for the purpose of getting admission into the course of Btech you have to give the entrance exam of JEE Mains, if you wish to get admission into NITs or IIITs however, if you wish to get IIT, then you need to write the JEE Advanced exam, which can only be given, if you qualify the JEE Mains exam.

However, if you are choosing to get admission in any of the private universities, then there are entrance exams conducted by the universities itself, these include, VITEEE, SRMJEE, BITSAT, LPUCET etc.,. Also, some universities even give you admission based upon your 12th and JEE Main marks, the universities like Sastra provides you this kind of opportunity.
