Journalists cover a wide range of topics. You may major in commerce, and being a business journalist will benefit you. If you studied science, it would be easier for you to cover science and technology as a journalistic beat. If you have the talent, you could study the arts while still covering almost everything you choose.
You could very much study any stream and still work in journalism if you're talking about a degree before enrolling in a journalism master's programme.
