Hello Candidate,
After the JEE main April session NTA will publish qualifying cut off lists ( for JEE advanced) and institute wise cut off lists.The institute wise cut off lists will have the cut off details of NITs and GFITs, which will be published after JEE advanced exam.
So, both of the counselling will take place simultaneously.

There is only one counselling for both the IITs and NITs. Depending on the rank, candidates choose their seats in their choice of IIT or NIT. Usually, the seats of IITs fill faster than the NITs.
