which degree should I choose to be an astronoutical engineer

Dear Aspirant,

As you may be aware of, Astronautical engineering is a  field that allows individuals to engage in tasks that have a reputation for being done by highly intellectual individuals as the subject matter involves  challenging academic subjects.

Astronautical engineers or aerospace engineers  are responsible for monitoring the proceedings of  developing an aircraft and aerospace products such as communication satellites, direct broadcasting satellites, rockets space launchers, missiles,  space vehicles, space navigational systems, reconnaissance satellites, and remote sensing satellites. By using the  specific engineering principles, they design products that meet quality standards, are in agreement to the safety of the environment, and that meet the customer's requirements. Astronautical engineers should also be able to detect any malfunction in developed products.

The degrees that are necessary to become an astronautical/aerospace engineer are B. Tech and B.E courses in Aerospace Engineering. There are also post graduate Diplomas  available for specialization in Aeronautical Engineering.

The basic eligibility for entrance into these courses are 12th pass with the PCM combination being mandatory. The entrance examination is the JEE.

The following are some reputed colleges that offer the course: Indian Institute of Technology (Mumbai, Kharagpur, Chennai, Kanpur), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram and Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai.

Furthermore,M.Tech or masters leading to further specialization will be a career boost.

Although the eligibility and qualifications vary from post to post and company to company, a basic graduation degree that is Bachelors in Engineer is a must. A masters degree is required if you want to be posted at a higher post. A bachelors is ok for an entry level job. M.Tech along with some good experience can help you get a bright career in this line.
