Do note that India is home to some very good Government, Private and Deemed dental institutes offering BDS courses which are sought after by students from across the world. However, it is not possible to declare which is ‘the best’ among these as each college will differ in terms of suitability for the student concerned.

It is common knowledge that the Government dental colleges in most metro cities are most sought after, since they not only provide excellent facilities but charge very little fees. Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi, along with Government Dental College, Mumbai and Government Dental College, Bangalore are considered some of the best Government dental colleges.

Quite a few private and deemed dental institutions are also beginning to match the quality offered by Government colleges, although they charge substantially higher fees. Some of the private and deemed dental institutions you can look at include Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal, Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai and SDM College of Dental Sciences, Dharwad.

Admissions to seats in each of the above colleges will be done on the basis of NEET scores. The competition for seats in Government colleges is much higher than that for Private and Deemed ones. So depending on your budget, the location you prefer and your ability to get a great NEET score, you will definitely be able to determine the best dental college for yourself.
