Which is better- taking admission via central councelling or via state councelling for same medical college? Is there a difference in fee structure in both?If yes then approximately how much??
Hello,
Firstly let's understand between state and central counselling.
State counselling - Each state conducts separate counselling for the seats in their states except those covered in central. It basically includes 2 types of seats -- 85% of government seats of government colleges of their stateSeats of private (non deemed) colleges.
But to participate in most of the state counselling we require domicile of that state. (Atleast to claim government college seats )For private college seats (except deemed universities) there may be some seats open for all state students but even in those colleges atleast half of seats are reserved for that state students.
Central counselling : There is no reservations for state domiciles except we are ranked according to India. This means 15% of the total seats available in the Government Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges are under the All India Quota which is also known as the Central Pool. The counseling for such seats are conducted by Medical Counseling Committee (MCC).
So participating in state counselling would be better because you get domicile status plus like for example in Delhi University half of the seats are reserved for delhi students. They get into the college easily. But if they are fighting through central counselling there is a rush but you also get a good college if you have a top rank.
Hope this helps!!
