It solely depends on your choice and dreams.What are you dreaming to achieve??what are your career interests???                          If you can answer the above two questions then you will get the answer for your question.

I will tell you some career options which you can opt after your graduation with respect to the stream

If your dream is to be a software Engineer, Interested in computers then without any doubt Opt the Computer Science department.Through this department there has been a greater scope to earn more as well as learn.

If you are interested towards the designing of Cars,Bikes and other automotives.Mechanical Engineering will help you.It is a very good branch and has good scope.you can choose ECE/EEE if you are interested towards the circuits and Electrical systems.

There are lots of parameter to decide which stream is best in BTech

On the basis of placement and enterprenership CSE/IT/ECE is best. This is the modern era where IT software companies are blooming. Even you can go for startup with any good idea. Finding job in these line is quiet easy.

If you go for core branches than it is good. There are moderate amount of job opening.

And for research there are quite new scope like material science, nano technology etc..
