There is no thing as "suitable course" that will make things easy for you to crack IAS Examinations. You can only get through UPSC Civil Service Examinations with correct approach and dedication.
The basic eligibility criteria is to have a Bachelor's degree in any stream or equivalent examination. So it doesn't matter whether one is engineer, doctor or a normal graduate of humanities, all are equally eligible for this exam and it also makes an equal opportunity game for all.
See,every course,be it Humanities,Science or Commmerce, has something to teach you which is going to broaden your perspective and that would be helpful for you. There are lots of optional subjects from various streams so it won't create any problem for you. Go for subject of your choice and start preparing for IAS side by side.
Work on your writing abilities and please study for the sake of learning and trust me you will get through any entrance test.

Hi jaganathan,
Looking at the syllabus of upsc, bachelors degree in ARTS i.e. BA with history, political science, geography, anthropology, etc must be taken…because these subject together constitute the major portion of the syllabus…Moreover BA course is easier compare to other courses as a result u will get more time to prepare for the other subjects …and also this course is of 3 yrs only.
