One cannot determine which Nit he or she will get on the basis of marks solely. It is decided after the ranklist is declared. Referring to the rank vs marks of last few years, getting into the mechanical branch of top 5 IITs is nearly impossible with 150 marks. You can get mechanical in Nit Jamshedpur, Iiest Shibpur, Nit Durgapur etc but not in the top ones like Surathkal,Trichy etc
