Which nit offered IT branches???

You have asked a good question on which every one has a great doubt on it.
Most of the nits donot offer it branch and there are only few which offer the information technology as a seperate engineering stream.
The main reason why the information technology branch came into existence in 2000's due to the craze for computer science and the demand of jobs in the market.
So most of the old nit's do not offer information technology as a seperate branch.
There are only 6 nit's that offer engineering specialization in information technology branch.
They are

• Nit jalandhar
• Nit allahabad
• Nit surathkal
• Nit raipur
• Nit kurukshetra
• Nit srinagar

On my analysis the best of all those 6 is surathkal nit which is famous for its computer science branch and information technology branch.
Then next comes the allahabad and kurukshetra
Then the new nits jalandhar then raipur , srinagar.
The top nits like nit warangal do not offer this special branch.
The closing rank for the surathkal in home state quota was around 8k and other state is 3k in the general category and for kurukshetra it was nearly 8k and 6k with the allahabad.
Srinagar it is nearly 1lakh as being a new nit.
So get aware of these things when you take admission in to the nits .
