Which one is beter option, Electronic and Communication Engineering or COE fro Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology?
Dear Deepika,
Electronic engineering is an electrical engineering discipline which utilizes nonlinear and active electrical components to design electronic circuits, devices, integrated circuits and their systems. The discipline typically also designs passive electrical components, usually based on printed circuit boards.
This stream of engineering deals with analog transmission, basic electronics, microprocessors, solid state devices, digital and analog communication, analog integrated circuits, microwave engineering, satellite communication, antennae and wave progression. It also deals with the manufacturing of electronic devices, circuits, and communications equipment.
Which University is better It all depends upon the prospect of university/college that you are looking forward to like the curriculum and study, recruitment and placement rate and campus infrastructure and life. Before choosing any University for study I would advice you to do comparison on various parameter like Academics,Ranking,Exposure,Placements etc.
My cousin Brother has done B.Tech ECE from Lovely Professional University so I have idea about this University. He got placed in Hewlett Packard Enterprise with decent package.
I would like to discuss few points which will help you:-
School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering is one of the best Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering colleges in Punjab and India. This tops companies are visiting campus for drives Bosch, Samsung, Voltas, Lava, Vodafone, Verizon, Hitachi Power, Videocon, L&T Technology Services, Ericsson, HCL Technologies, Asahi India, Ceasefire Industries, Sandhar Technologies, Indus tower, KEC International, Dharam Consulting, Cleanmax Solar, CSS Corp, Exide, Zamil ACs etc.
Expert lectures are conducted in the form of invited talk throughout the year, where industry /academia experts share their wisdom to enhance students
In addition to core curricula, the course offers subjects like communication, analytical and soft skills to enhance personality and employability. They Encourage students to have maximum industrial exposure through visits for problem identification and emerging technologies.
Lovely Professional University provides several programs that include B.Tech, B.Tech (Hons. ), a dual degree programme for B.Tech and M.Tech and B.Tech and MBA and integrated programs like B.Tech and MBA and B.Tech and M.Tech. Here at LPU, you can get enrolled in any stream as per your interest and choice. Every year many students join the various engineering courses that are offered by LPU.
The university is having tie ups with many foreign universities and reputed companies thus facilitating higher education abroad and good placements respectively for their students. Big companies like Bosch, Samsung, Voltas, Lava, Vodafone, , PEGA, hp,LG Soft India, Capgemini, Hind Rectifiers,Verizon, Hitachi Power, Videocon, L&T Technology Services.
Just before Final Year of your course, a special team called School of Professional Enhancement will prepare you for upcoming placements and believe me you wont get a day off from placements, every day a company comes to campus. Its just upto you how well you can do and never lose Patience you will get placed, you just have to prepare well for that.
Student will be given an option to go for 4 weeks study tour to USA/ European countries or any other country. You will get many opportunities like, workshops, coding events, hackathons and a lot more in LPU so that you can improve your skills, You will be able to achieve various certifications, which help you in getting better placements.
Hope you will take your decision wisely!
Hello Deepika!
I hope you are doing great in your life!
I would like to inform you that Electronic and communication engineering and Computer Organization and Architecture both are quite similar like In COE you have to study about hardware. If you have an interest in computers, then you should choose COE. The same goes for ECE. If you go by placements, the average package of the students of the 2019 - 20 batch of ECE was 7.79 LPA compared to 7.82 LPA of COE as of August. So the placement of ENC is pretty decent. Most of the companies arriving in Thapar are open to all branches related to computers (COE, COPC, COBS, ENC). There are a few branch-specific companies/organizations as well, like ISRO which allows only the students of ECE. ECE is all about electronics and how the different electrical components (Microprocessor, RAM etc) communicate with each other. It has more Physics in it. There is a little programming involved but not much whereas COE deals with telling these components what to do and when to do it; by programming them.
So as per your field of interest you can choose any one because both are good. And keep studying keep growing.
All the best for your future!
Thanks.
