Frankly speaking, there are no such differences if you choose core or any specialised branch. It depends upon your choice what you want to do with your future and in which field.
There are many specialisation branches made available for the students who wished to focus on one field. It can be Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or it can be core.
See, in most colleges of India, the purpose of adding various branches in the name of specialisation is just to fill the maximum number of seats in a college.
You can also learn the specialisation subject on your own. Coming to the point of placements it is almost the same with a difference of merely 5% generally. So I think this is not that enough. The package offered is also similar and it also depends on the skills and problem-solving abilities of the candidates.
Choose wisely between both. A wise decision is always appreciated.
