On an overall basis , GFTIs are considered to be better than private colleges in terms of placements , academics etc. But that is not the case for all GFTIs and private colleges , some top private colleges like the one you mentioned RV college of engineering can be better than some GFTIs , so its not just about the ownership but every other point including infrastructure , fees etx should be considered.
