Both AMET and IMU are good in their field. But unlike other maritime colleges in India, IMU has proven track record for placement for all the departments. Being a Central University, the college brings many companies like Maersk and MOL etc for placement. Fleet is also sponsoring, and a maximum number of cadets are sponsored by Fleet.
