which stream is best for ece student ?

A CS student already knows about a couple of programming language, algorithms and data structures and has understanding on Computer science fundamentals.
An EC students knows about electronic devices, electromagnetic signals and C or C++ language.
So, as an electronics student you are already lagging behind a CS student at least by 2 years and if you want to join IT you should take this into consideration.
I thing getting an IT job is considerably easy and you will start earning 30k per month pretty soon.
If you fancy building bots, and like the smell when you solder a resistor on a circuit board IT will never be interesting for you trust me!
I would suggest you study hard for GATE and get into a reputed institute and do your MTech.
