Which subject is more preferable for a good earning job ? Geology or Agriculture or Architure ? I have interest in all three of them.
Hello,
Being a geologist is a good career option and a first class degree or post-grad degree is a minimum requirement to fetch a job. Private companies like Schlumberger, Western Geco, Halliburton, shell etc. pay 13–18 lakh per annum. PSUs like ONGC, OIL, IOCL, GAIL etc pay a good amount of 50–60 thousand in hand per month and better working conditions. GSI and BARC also pay a good in hand salary of 45–55 k to a fresher whereas other private companies and other PSUs related to mining, drilling, and other geo-services provider may offer a little less salary maybe 20 to 30–40 k per month . You can also get a good salary by working as a GIS specialist or even space projects ISRO or NASA which involves the study of rocks from other planets and asteroids.
A career in Architecture is attractive, high paying, and has lots of potential in terms of growth. The scope for architecture in India is good but one cannot expect a good package just after graduation. When a student completes architecture he can get a job in an architecture firm for a package ranging from 15k-20k per month. But eventually, you can earn more by yourself. Learn and then invest to establish your own firm after gaining enough experience and confidence. Architecture is not only about design, but technical knowledge of the relevant field is also required. Architects are paid to solve problems, so the more exclusive your problem-solving skills are more you are in demand and better the package.
There are various job opportunities are available for agriculture graduate aspirants. You can apply for jobs in government as well as in private organizations. After completing graduation in this field and with some experience, you can start up your own business like agriculture firms, agriculture products shop, agribase industry, etc and earn in lakhs from it. Or after your postgraduate degree in agriculture, you can work as a supervisor, distributors, researcher & engineer. Apart from the above, some sectors where you can find job opportunities with the agriculture degree are Agro-industry Sector, Estates and tea gardens, Services Sector, Agricultural Engineering, Corporations, and Agriculture Management.
