Dear jee aspirant,
The definition of hardness and easiness of any subject or chapter depend upon the student itself. In JEE Mains the whole syllabus of 11th class and 12th class covers total a of 76 chapters which is quite a large amount and also there are more chapters included in JEE Mains than in JEE advanced. Now talking about the difficulty level of any subject, then it totally depend upon the student that wether he or she has prepared that subject for chapter well. If any student has done a lot of practice questions and has been revising the concepts regularly for a particular subject or chapter then for that student that particular chapter or subject will become easy. Actually no subject is hard or easy, if you understand any subject well, give proper time, practice and revise it regularly then that chapter or subject will be your easiest part.
Now if you want to know that which subjects are hard for jee mains, then according to me, mathematics is the game changing subject. Because in mathematics subject there are huge variety of questions which can be solved with different methods and it depends on you that which method you are choosing because if you took a longer method to solve a particular problem of mathematics then it will take more time and in JEE mains I recommend that do not give more than 3 minutes for any question. Some hard and conceptual chapters of mathematics are permutation and combination, probability, complex numbers etc. because these chapters requires lot of critical thinking and correct approach and also these chapters are generally real life based, so the questions are quite tuff than any other chapters.
And if you want to get a command on these chapters just practice more and more questions, get the real feel of that chapter and dive into that chapter. In JEE Mains the Physics and Chemistry part come quite easy but sometimes they can be hard.
Some of the conceptual chapters of Physics include optics (as it requires a lot of imagination) and electrostatics. And for chemistry - Ionic Equilibrium, as it requires a lot of concepts and has a large variety of formulas.
Now coming to the JEE advanced then in this exam you cannot say that this chapter is hard or that chapter is easy because almost all the questions of JEE advanced of each subject has same difficulty level. But still in Physics, rotation plays an important role and it is regarded as the hardest chapter by many students. For this chapter you must practice university physics book to strengthen your concepts.
Now coming to the Chemistry part then, gaseous state, Ionic Equilibrium and in inorganic part, salt analysis can be termed as hardest chapters.
For these chapters you must solve problems in inorganic chemistry by VK JAISWAL to get command in these chapters and coming to the mathematics part then, permutation and combination can be termed as hardest chapter in JEE advanced paper.
One might say that chemistry is regarded as the toughest subject because it has three parts : physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry and organic chemistry.
For physical chemistry, do the practice with books named as - problems in physical chemistry by Narendra Awasthi.
For inorganic chemistry - Problems in inorganic chemistry by VK jaiswal.
For organic chemistry practice the problems with book named as Advancd problems in organic chemistry by MS chouhan
Good luck !
