while filling the urn in upse first i made a mistake in my mothers surname but after the registration i edit my urn and correct it and my profile and caf showing correct surbame if my mother after that when i finally fill the nda exam application but in that my mother namw is not corrected
Hello,
If your UPSC OTR/URN profile and CAF (Common Application Form) are now showing your mother's surname correctly after you edited it, that's a good sign.
However, if the NDA application form still shows the old, incorrect surname , it likely means the NDA application was submitted before the correction was updated in that particular application.
In most cases, UPSC verifies details based on the application submitted for that exam. A minor spelling or surname mismatch in a parent's name usually does not lead to rejection, especially when your own name, date of birth, and other major details are correct.
Keep copies/screenshots of:
-
The corrected OTR/URN profile
-
The CAF showing the correct surname
-
The submitted NDA application
If UPSC opens a correction window, you should update it there. Otherwise, you can also explain the situation during document verification if required.
So, don't panic. Since the corrected surname is now reflecting in your profile and CAF, this is generally not considered a major issue.
Hope it helps.
