The invention of microscope is generally credited to Zacharias Janseen and his father Hans Janseen, who are believed to have developed the first compound microscope around 1590.
Later, Antonie van Leeuwenhoek greatly improved microscope design and become famous for observing microorganism earning him the title "Father of Microbiology."
Therefore, Zacharias Janseen is considered the inventor (founder) of the microscope.
