Why does pure inductor not consume any power?
Hey!There
In pure inductor there is no resistive component,so power dissipation is zero. Here power means active power, which is equals to VI cos© where cos© is power factor. In case of pure inductor value of cos© is zero as angle between V and I is 90°..Inductor consumes reactive power which is non dissipating in nature. This power oscillates between loads(capacitor or inductor) and source. So active power dissipation is zero..But in reality every inductor has some resistive component which reflect it's active power dissipation..
Ask if any query.
GOOD LUCK!
