Why packages are decreased after m tech in many college

see most of the indian manufacturing and service based companies hires for btech pass candidates as they dont have the position to offer a mtech graduate. but this scenario is not same for all colleges , if you have gone the placement record of iits , then you can see that students are getting 40 lpa offers from microsoft , google , general electric etc. but for service based companies like tcs, cts , if you have done mtech from tier 2 colleges you can get an offer for 3.5-4.5 lpa . but for reputed institute it is really different. so my suggestion is if you want to do mtech , then select the college and subjects according to future job prospects and placement record.
