Hi Nitin,
A pen portrait of the novel is not necessary to some but questions of the value of 10 marks are surely going to be in the paper from the novel. It will be a compulsory question so go through some important questions from the novel of your choice, whether it's The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank' or ' The Story of My Life'.
