hey there,
Yes , after passing Biology from NIOS, you will be eligible for Neet examination.
Other eligibility criteria
- Candidates must have completed 17 years as on December 31, 2022.
- NEET eligibility marks in class 12 to be considered are aggregate marks only for PCB subjects UR - 50%, OBC/SC/ST - 40%,PWD - 45%
- There is no upper age limit till the Supreme Court passes its judgment on it.
thank you for answering but i am still a bit concerned about the two marksheets that i will be having once i give on demand exam that which one will be used for neet counselling and whether two marksheets will be accepted or not as they are from two different boards.
Hi
For now students with biology as an additional subject are eligible for neet , so going by this, Yes, you would be eligible for NEET if after your 12th PCM you additionally pass Biology on demand examination from NIOS which is a recognised open ( open boards like Nios etc eligibility is also pending in supreme court, but eligibile for now.)
This is because,
The eligibility of students with Biology as an additional is in the supreme court but until it gives its judgement students, these students are eligible for neet
Here's the eligibility criteria for NEET :-
-----------) Qualification required :-As per Neet eligibility to be eligible you must be either appearing for 12th board examination or should have passed 12th board examination with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English as core subject.
† ††Important Note :- Students who have passed Biology as an additional subject are also provisionally eligible for neet until Supreme Court gives its judgement. For neet 2022 there's still time left so in meanwhile if judgement comes then eligibility of biology additional students will depend upon the outcome of judgement.
-----------) Percentage required :- You must get
-
at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in 12th examination if belongs to general category
-
at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to st/Obc/ Sc
-
at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible.
-----------) Age limit :-
-
Lower age limit:- to be eligible for neet one has to be at least 17 years old or more by 31st December in the year of appearing for the examination .
-
Upper age limit :-The upper age limit is 25 years as on the date of neet examination and there's relaxation of 5 years for obc ncl/SC/ST /PwBD students means upper age limit is 30 years for these categories.
†††† But since 2018, the case of upper age limit is pending in supreme court , and so there's no upper age limit as of now until supreme court gives its judgement over it.
