Hey,
The UPSC mains will have 7 papers ,out of which 2 papers will be on elective subjects.
Now, you can select any subject from the various options provided by the board, but make sure you have the knowledge of the subject. There are 48 optional subjects provide. You need to get qualifying marks in the optional subject as well. So, I would suggest you that you choose a subject which you have learnt in your engineering and are confident about it.

- Paper 2- General Studies I (Indian Heritage & Culture, History & Geography of the World & Society)
