will me having specs hinder my chances of getting into the army as a doctor??

It is not a problem until and unless you fail the acceptable visual acuity which are: Distant vision (corrected)better eye 6/6 worse 6/18, Myopia of not more than minus 5.5 including Astogination.
Internal examination of the eye will be done by means of ophthalmoscope to further check any disease in your eyes.
