wrja reaction kya ho ta hai boliye
hello aspirant..,
if you actually mean the wurtz fittig reaction then it is, The Wurtz–Fittig reaction is the chemical reaction of aryl halides with alkyl halides and sodium metal in the presence of dry ether to give substituted aromatic compounds. Work by Wilhelm Rudolph Fittig in the 1860s extended the approach to the coupling of an alkyl halide with an aryl halide. Wurtz reaction is carried out with sodium metal which is highly reactive, hence, we have to select a solvent which will not react with the sodium metal. ... it requires an aprotic solvent as the medium of the reaction.Dry ether proves to be a very good non-polar, aprotic solvent for this purpose.HENCE DRY ETHER IS USED.
hope this helps
all the best
