Yes of course, you got a job through GATE exam.
For Mechanical, civil , electrical branch, you can get job in PSUs.
For that you have to score good in GATE.
There are required 80+ marks in GATE out of 100 yo get selection in PSUs.

Yes there are many jobs for which there are GATE qualified is required.
