Out of the total 7,94,911 enrolled candidates enrolled for the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) training programme, Union Territories (UT) reported the lowest enrolments – only 7.64 per cent.
National Skill Development Corporation organised the PMKVY training programme to give industry-relevant skill training to the candidates which can further help them for employability. Careers360 divided all states of India into six zones for a better analysis and comparison- North, South, East, West, Central and UTs. This article gives a deep analysis of all the UTs of the country.
Jammu and Kashmir has the highest enrollment among all the UTs, being the eleventh highest across the nation in terms of enrollment. Except for Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir, all other UTs had the lowest enrollment across the country.
A total of 60,732 candidates enrolled from the UTs, which was 7.63 per cent of the total candidates who were trained in the PMKVY 3.0 courses. It was the lowest percentage of candidates enrolled among all the six zones.

When the data was collected in 2021, few candidates were still undergoing training and so were neither certified nor placed till then. Though just about one per cent of the enrolled students were still training, which is 628 candidates of the total candidates enrolled in all of the UTs.
Lakshadweep and Ladakh had zero enrollment in the first version of the PMKVY programme. In PMKVY 3.0, Lakshadweep and Ladakh have the lowest number of enrollment as well as the lowest number of certified candidates among all the states.
UTs zone had the second lowest percentage of certification after the east zone .
Certified Candidates In Union Territories
Placement data for the UTs is not complete as the training and placement process were still on when the data was collected. However, whatever data Careers360 could collect and collate has been shown in the graph below. This gives us a peek into what the placement situation is like in the UTs.
Surprisingly, Ladakh has the highest per cent of candidates placed after Sikkim in India.
Puducherry, Chandigarh and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu also had the best placement among states.

Union Territories have variable results in terms of enrollment, certified and placed candidates, many of these UTs were at the top in comparison to the other UTs and states across the country. But in the same parameter some UTs continue to hold the lowest rank.
