B Tech level, students are admitted through JEE (main) Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. As per the direction of the MHRD 50% of the seats in NITs will be filled from eligible candidates of States where NITs are located and rest 50% will be filled on All India Merit basis. The admissions are made centrally by CSAB (Central seat allocation board) as per the directions of MHRD.

B.Tech. Admissions to various programs of IIITD will be done through Joint Admission Counselling, JAC-Delhi, and through IIITD admission process using UCEED rank (Only for some seats in CSD) and Class XII Marks (Only for some seats in CSSS). Must have passed class XII (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects and secured at least 75% aggregate marks. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%.

70% marks in aggregate for five subjects (including Physics, Chemistry and Maths) and 70% in Maths in class XII from CBSE board or equivalent.
