B Tech level, students are admitted through JEE (main) Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. As per the direction of the MHRD 50% of the seats in NITs will be filled from eligible candidates of States where NITs are located and rest 50% will be filled on All India Merit basis. The admissions are made centrally by CSAB (Central seat allocation board) as per the directions of MHRD.

B.Tech. Admissions to various programs of IIITD will be done through Joint Admission Counselling, JAC-Delhi, and through IIITD admission process using UCEED rank (Only for some seats in CSD) and Class XII Marks (Only for some seats in CSSS). Admissions for foreign nationals/PIOs/NRIs will be through DASA and directly through IIITD process - more details are available here.

Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination, i.e. Senior Secondary [10+2] or equivalent from any system of education as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Candidate should have completed successfully Mathematics, Physics and any one of the subjects from (Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology) - in 11th AND / OR 12th, as applicable in the respective boards. and Must have secured a minimum of at least 60% aggregate marks or 6.50 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent in the qualifying examination.

70% marks in aggregate for five subjects (including Physics, Chemistry and Maths) and 70% in Maths in class XII from CBSE board or equivalent.
