Valid score/Rank in WBJEE / JEE Main of the current year; For Decentralized Monitored Counseling (against drop out vacancy) conditions remain same except Entrance Rank which is not mandatory (preference will be given to Rank holders).
In all B.Tech courses, 80% of students of approved intake capacity will be admitted on the basis of merit position secured by the candidate in the Joint Entrance Examination of the State.
Students on the basis of merit position in JEE MAIN may also be admitted up to 10% of the total intake. Diploma Holders in Engineering / Technology qualifying in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (JELET) are eligible on the basis of merit position for admission in the 3rd semester (2nd year) of the B.Tech course.
Eligibility Criteria
Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/Technical Vocational subject, having a valid rank in WBJEE/JEE (Mains).
Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
Lateral Entry- Passed Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology, having a valid rank in WBJELET.
Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.
Provided that the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall clear the subjects Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the First Year Engineering Programme along with the Second year subjects.
Provided that the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream.
Candidates seeking admission in the Institute are required to pass Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination of W.B Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other recognized Board or University.
