Admission Details
A student to step in a four-year degree course in Engineering except NRI quota must qualify in “Engineering, Agricultural Sciences And Medical Common Entrance Test” (EAMCET), a State-Level Entrance Test conducted by the Govt. Of Andhra Pradesh. Students who qualify in EAMCET entrance test will be admitted strictly on merit bases.
The admission process is totally under the strict control of APSCHE and according to the guidelines mentioned in the various G.Os released by the Andhra Pradesh Government. The seat allocation will be made under 2 categories.
Common entrance tests will be conducted for the students aspiring for UG courses in engineering in Andhra Pradesh. The rank is given by considering 75% weightage for marks obtained in the common entrance test and 25% weightage for marks obtained in the qualifying exam. Seats are allotted through Web counselling conducted by APSCHE for 70% of the seats (Category – A). The students can choose any particular branch of engineering in any of the engineering colleges in order of their preference. The government allocates the seats to the students through an online process based on merit and rank in EAMCET for UG courses. 10% of the seats will be allocated for the lateral entry students, who will be admitted into the II Year B.Tech course after a diploma based on ECET rank.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate has passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category), subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
