Admission Details
Admission of NIT Hamipur is based on the performance in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). There is no need to apply separately to each NIT. Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), constituted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, comprising of the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) and the Joint Admission Board (JAB) conduct and supervise the admission process of candidates to various NITs through centralized online counseling process.
Admission to BE/BTech programs shall be made on the basis of prescribed criteria of JEE Main β 2026 and 10+2 PCM. Applicants are required to fill application form one time only and on the basis of single application form, they can seek admission through any mode, as per the details hereunder:
On the basis of merit of JEE Main β 2026
For programmes mentioned at Sr. No. 1-9 in table β I, admission shall be done on the basis of merit of All India Rank (AIR) of JEE Main β 2026.
On the basis of merit of JEE Main β 2026/ 10+2 PCM*
For programmes mentioned at Sr. No. 10-16 in table β I, admission shall be done on the basis following two modes
i. On the basis of merit of All India Rank (AIR) of JEE Main β 2026.
ii. On the basis of merit of marks secured in 10+2 or equivalent examination in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject.
On the basis of merit of JEE Main β 2026/ NEET β 2026/ 10+2 PCM*/ 10+2 PCB
For programmes mentioned at Sr. No. 17-18 in table β I, admission shall be done on the basis following four modes:
i. On the basis of All India Rank (AIR) of JEE Main β 2026.
ii. On the basis of All India Rank (AIR) of NEET β 2026.
iii. On the basis of merit of marks secured in 10+2 or equivalent examination in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Chemistry and, Biology
iv. On the basis of merit of marks secured in 10+2 or equivalent examination in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject.
iv. Along with the admission during the counselling (Online/Offline), Institute may also offer the direct admission to following BE/BTech programmes subject to fulfilling of eligibilit criteria mentioned in 1.2.

Eligibility Criteria
Must have passed class XII (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects and secured at least 75% aggregate marks. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%.
BE/BTech programmes:
To be eligible for admission to BE/BTech programme, the candidate
i. has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject*.
ii. has appeared in JEE Main β 2026.
iii. possesses a good moral character.
iv. is a citizen of India.
v. has passed 10+2 examination in 2024, 2025 or appearing in 2026.
