    Indian Boards - 

    • Pass in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / any technical vocational subject* as optional, from a recognized Board, with minimum 50 % aggregate marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects

    A level -

    • Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science or any technical vocational subject* as optional subject in the ‘A’ Levels and English in the ‘AS’ / IGCSE / GCSE 
    • Minimum grade required is an average of ‘D’ grade in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects

    • English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science or any technical vocational subject* as optional subject (preferably Mathematics and Physics at HL level)

    Admission to First Year of Engineering

    • The applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) Examination of the Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or Computer Science, and secured not less than 45% marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics, Mathematics and one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science (40% for SC/ST/OBC students.)
    • The applicant should have a valid score at Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) examination conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Goa, for the year of admission. GCET score of a previous year is not valid.
    • Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering/ B.Sc. Degree with Mathematics as a subject at Std XIIth, with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC students), shall be eligible for admission to the First Year of Engineering Degree courses subject to vacancies in First Year, after vacancies at Lateral Entry Level are exhausted. The merit list of such candidates shall be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored at the qualifying exam.

    Students Applying Under NRI Category

    In addition to the above requirements, students applying under NRI Category must also take note of the following:

    • Non-resident Indian applicants holding Indian passport shall be eligible for consideration under this category provided he/she has studied and passed qualifying examination from school/colleges located outside India, in the country of his/her residence. NRI candidate must produce a certificate issued by Indian Diplomatic Mission or Chancellery or Commission abroad under their seal stating that the father /parent of the applicant is an Indian resident in that country. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI)/ Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders are considered eligible for admissions to seats under NRI Category. One seat in each branch of study in Engineering in the Government colleges and upto 5% of self-financed seats in the unaided colleges are reserved for the candidates under this category. Any seat remaining vacant under this category shall be reverted to the General Category. There is no provision for “NRI sponsored” seats or by payment of “equivalent amount” against “vacant NRI seats”. Seats under this category shall first be offered to NRI/OCI applicants of Goan origin (i.e. whose either of the parent or grandparent is born in Goa) and thereafter, to other eligible NRI applicants. Such applicants shall pay fees applicable to NRI Category applicants.

    Admission to Second Year of Engineering (Lateral Entry for Diploma/ B Sc. students)

    • The applicant must have passed the Diploma in Engineering in the relevant branch with a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/OBC students) aggregate marks at the Diploma course examination conducted by the Goa Board of Technical Education or an equivalent examination, conducted by a recognized Board of Technical Education in India or abroad.

    OR

    • The applicant must have passed Bachelor of Science Degree with Mathematics as a subject at Std. XIIth and with minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/OBC students) marks in the aggregate (Final Year) from Goa University.
    • Vacant seats, if any, under Lateral Entry to Second Year of Engineering courses shall be available for admissions to eligible B Sc. Degree holders, only after all seats are offered first to eligible Diploma holders.
