The admission to UG programmes is purely based on the marks obtained in the Higher Secondary examinations. The admission of students to all the programmes is through a Single Window Admission System, administered by Anna University. The higher secondary marks are scaled to 200, based on which the merit list/ ranks are released. Counselling is conducted based upon the ranking.

For Part-Time- Admission forms, applicable only to ACT, MIT and CEG. are released online in the website in the month of October. Rank lists based upon the diploma score are hence released and counselling is conducted based upon the ranking.

A pass in the HSC (Academic) or its equivalent with a minimum average percentage in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together as given below.

• Backward Class including Backward Class Muslim- 45.00 %
• MBC & DNC- 40.00 %
• SC/SCA/ST- 40.00 %

A pass in any one of the HSC (Vocational Subject) as given below with any one of the Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry with a minimum average percentage put together as given below.

For Part-Time- Completion of the Diploma with a minimum number of 2 gap years.

The candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examinations(10+2) of Curriculum (Academic Stream) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as three of the four subjects of study or any examination of any other University or authority accepted by the Syndicate of Anna University as equivalent thereto. 

(OR) 

The candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of Vocational stream (Vocational groups in Engineering / Technology) as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. 

Lateral entry admission 

(i) The candidates who possess the Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamilnadu or its equivalent are eligible to apply for Lateral entry admission to the third semester of B.E. / B.Tech. in the branch corresponding to the branch of study. 

(OR) 

(ii)The candidates who possess the Degree in Science (B.Sc.,) (10+2+3 stream) with Mathematics as a subject at the B.Sc. Level are eligible to apply for Lateral entry admission to the third semester of B.E. / B.Tech.
