Compare Vasavi College of Engineering (VCE) vs PEC Puducherry

As per the norms prescribed by Telangana State Government 70% of the seats designated as Category ‘A’ seats will be filled by the Convener, TS EAMCET, based on the rank secured in the TS EAMCET (Common entrance test conducted by Government of Telangana State). 30% of the seats designated as category ‘B’ seats will be filled by the College based on the guidelines issued by the Government of Telangana State.

Admission to the first year professional courses (Engineering and biology based courses) offered in Government and private colleges in the U.T. of Puducherry is done through Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC), constituted by the Government of Puducherry every academic year.

Lateral Entry- Admission to second year B.Tech. courses in PEC for the diploma holders is done through Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC-LE), constituted by the Government of Puducherry every academic year.

A Candidate for admission to the four-year degree course in Engineering must have passed the Intermediate examination of the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Telangana with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects, or any other 10+2 level examination recognized by the Board of Intermediate as equivalent thereto.

Candidates for admission to the first semester of the 8 semester B.Tech Degree programme should be required to have passed:

The Higher Secondary Examination of the (10+2) curriculum (Academic Stream) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu or any other examination equivalent there to with minimum of 45% marks (a mere pass for OBC and SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of subjects – Mathematics, Physics and any one of the following optional subjects: Chemistry / Biotechnology/ Computer Science / Biology (Botany & Zoology) or an Examination of any University or Authority recognized by the Executive Council of the Pondicherry University as equivalent thereto.

For Lateral entry in to third semester of the eight semester B.Tech programme:

The minimum qualification for admission is a pass in three year diploma or four year sandwich diploma course in engineering / technology with a minimum of 60 % marks (50% marks for OBC and a mere pass for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate in the subjects covered from 3rd to final semester or a pass in any B.Sc. course with mathematics as one of the subjects of study with a minimum of  60 % marks ( 50% marks for OBC and a mere pass for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate in main and ancillary subjects excluding language subjects. The list of diploma programs approved for admission for each of the degree programs is given in Annexure A. 

Age Limit: The candidate should not have completed 21 years of age as on 1st July of the academic year under consideration. For Lateral Entry admission to second year of degree programme , candidates should not have completed 24 years as on 1st July of the academic year under consideration. In the case of SC/ST candidates, the age limit is relaxable by 3 years for both the cases.
