Candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as mandatory subjects from a recognized board.

60% aggregate marks in PCM in 12th Std.
50% marks in English subject in 10th/12th Std.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION
Eye-Sight:
Unaided vision: 0.5*(6/12) in each eye or 0.67*(6/9) in better eye and 0.33*(6/18) in another eye.
Eye Health:
No eye conditions, full eye movement, normal pupil response, good binocular vision. No Color blindness and Color vision tested with Ishihara Chart.
Physical Fitness:
Candidates must be medically fit, including eyesight and hearing, as prescribed in the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000, as amended, and need to produce a certificate of medical fitness issued by a D.G. Shipping-approved doctor.
A Cansisate Pass 10+2 with Minimum average marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together and OC-45%, BC / BCM-40%, MBC / DNC-40%, SC / SCA / SCT -40%.
Lateral Entry
Qualifying Examination marks to be considered for calculation of minimum eligibility marks
Full-Time Diploma/BSc: Overall percentage of marks obtained by the candidate from the 1st semester to the 6th semester
Lateral Entry Diploma: Overall percentage of marks obtained by the candidate from the 3rd semester to the 6th semester
Sandwich Diploma: Overall percentage of marks obtained by the candidate from the 1st semester to the 7th semester, excluding the in-plant training marks
Part-Time Diploma: Overall percentage of marks obtained by the candidate from the 1st semester to the 8th semester
GC-55%, BC/BCM-50%, MBC/DNC- 45% SC/SCA/SCT-Mere Pass in the Qualifying Exams
