Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) has open the registration process for the entrance exam from March 8. All candidates who wish to get allotted in the participating institutes of HPCET can fill and submit the online application form of HPCET 2018 till April 28. The offline entrance examination of HPCET
First 50% of the total HPCET B.Tech seats will be offered to candidates based on their merit/rank/score in JEE Main 2018.
The candidates, who are seeking admission in the participating institutes of HPCET 2018 through JEE Main 2018 on the basis of its merit/ranks need to fulfil the eligibility criteria

Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test is conducted by Himachal Pradesh Technical University. It is a state level exam which is used for admissions to BTech./BPharmacy/ BPharmacy (Ayurveda), MTech, MPharmacy, MCA and MBA being offered by HPTU and colleges affiliated to it.
According to the eligibility criteria for HPCET,
Other state students are not required to apply for HPCET admissions will be based on JEE Main.

In order to get seat in NITs you need to score more then 125 marks in JEE Main in general category other state quota.
