Hello,
For the year 2020, HPTU has cancelled the HPCET 2020 exam due to the current pandemic. This year admissions will be done on the basis of score of students in class 10+2. Students who qualify in JEE Mains will be given direct admission.
The admission form for HPCET counseling is open till September 15, 2020.

Following are the eligibility criteria
  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognised board/university with at least 45% aggregate marks for general category candidates and at least 40% marks for reserved category candidates.
  • Candidates need to have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in class 12th along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects.

You need the below documents at the time of counseling for HPCET 2020
  • Certificates of class XII and class X.
  • Class XII and X mark sheets issued by the board/university.
  • Date of birth certificate or matriculation/higher secondary/Indian school certificates showing the date of birth.
  • JEE Main/HPCET scorecard.
  • Character certificate from the head of the institution last attended.
  • Bonafide/domicile certificate issued by the concerned authority.
  • Reserved category certificate issued by the competent authority, if applicable.
  • Physically challenged certificate issued by the competent authority, if applicable.
  • Income certificate issued by the competent authority, if applied under the tuition fee waiver scheme.
  • An affidavit attested by the Executive Magistrate if applied under Beti Hai Anmol Scheme.
  • Kashmiri migrants and domicile certificate issued by the competent authority, if applied under supernumerary Kashmiri migrant quota.

HPCET is a state level exam conducted for admission of candidates to undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered at variety of colleges in himachal .

Any aspirant from all over india is eligible to give HPCET entrance exam .

Moreover students from jammu can also get admission in hptu through All india quota seats i.e 15% of total sanctioned seats and also 2 seats in each institution for kashmiri migrant is reserved

how much percentage of +2 is needed for admission in hpcet this year

For the reserved category it is atleast 40% and for general it is atleast 45%.
Also it is compulsory for the students to take physics and mathematics in 12
You should also keep in mind that the first 50% will be given by jee mains marks then the rest will be given by 12 board.

2nd jee main is not done yet so how can we apply through jee main if the total nta score is not out yet ???

Hi aspirant ,
The NTA JEE MAIN will be conducted in September and then the final score will be released . So don't need to worry . You will have your final score at the end of September . For other colleges like Manipal , bit , srm , vit these college conduct there own entrance.

the himachal pradesh technical university has cancelled the HPCET 2020 exam due to corona crisis going on all around , this year admission will be provided on the basis of score of jee mains and 10+2

Hello,



Himachal Pradesh Technical University will release the application form of HPCET 2020 on the official website but the dates has not been announced yet.Earlier the scheduled date for application form was in March but was postponed due to Covid-19.
No announcement has been made yet for the new dates but the application form will be out possibly this month.

Hello Yamini,

If you have not given HPCET exam it will be a bit hard to get into a college which gives the admissions through HPCET exam. About giving the admission without the exam it depends on the college whether it accepts admission through your class 12/graduation percentage or other option is management quota seats.

What does PASS CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFYING means ?.. does it mean +2 Certificate?

Pass certificate of qualifying means the certificate of what you qualified in recently. If you are seeking for admission in a graduation program then it shall be the certificate of 12th and if for post graduation program then it would be of graduation certificate.

Is their any age limit in HPCET

No there is no age limit for appearing for HPCET. 

Other criteria for HPCET are 

Following criteria had to be met if the candidates wished to appear in the HPCET 2019 examination.

  • Candidates must have passed their Class 12 th or equivalent from a recognized college or board
  • Candidates must have secured at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination. 5% relaxation is given to the candidates belonging to the reserved categories
  • Candidates must have Physics and Mathematics as a compulsory subject along with one other – Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subjects

Important: If the aggregate percentage for candidates is coming in the fraction, in such case, the candidate must round off their percentage to the nearest percentage of marks. For example, candidates having aggregate marks in the range of 44.01% - 44.49%, it shall be rounded off to 44% and 44.50% - 44.99% shall be rounded off to 45%.
