    About IMU CET 2026

    IMU CET 2026 -  The Indian Maritime University has commenced the IMU CET 2026 registration on the official website, imu.edu.in. Students who obtained at least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the 10+2 exams and 50% marks in English in the class 10 and 12 exams are eligible to apply for the IMU CET exam. Candidates seeking admission to affiliated institutes of IMU /other DGS-approved Marine Training Institutes (MTIs) must have appeared for the IMU CET exam 2026. The authority will conduct the IMU CET exam on May 24, 2026.  The IMU CET 2026 registration deadline is April 24, 2026.

    Candidates had to refer to the IMU CET 2026 syllabus and exam pattern for their preparations. Moreover, candidates were also advised to attempt the IMU CET sample paper to check the important topics & chapters covered in the exam previously.     B.Tech

    Indian Maritime University has released the IMU CET 2026 eligibility criteria online. Candidates can check the official notification for the eligibility criteria of IMU CET 2026. The eligibility criteria will comprise details on the age limit, academic qualification, and medical fitness specifications. Each applicant must meet every condition laid down by the concerned authorities. Any candidate who fails to fulfil the eligibility criteria will be disqualified from the admission process later. Candidates who meet the eligibility conditions can fill out the IMU CET 2026 application form.

    Maximum age: For Male: General-25 years, OBC (NCL) - 28 years, SC/ST-30 years. For Female: General-27 years, OBC (NCL) - 30 years, SC/ST-32 years.

    Academic Qualifications


    The candidate should score a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2 or equivalent exams. Additionally, a minimum of 50% marks in English is also mandatory.

    5% relaxation applies to SC/ST category candidates. However, no relaxation applies to English marks.

    Medical Fitness

    B.Tech Marine Engineering

    All candidates applying to this programme need to clear fitness as mandated by DG Shipping Guidelines.

    A medical certificate issued by doctors who are approved by the Director General of Shipping has to be produced by the candidates applying for Marine Engineering.

    B.Tech Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering (and also B.Sc Ship Building & Repair)

    A physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner has to be submitted.

    Eye Sight

    B.Tech Marine Engineering (and also DNS courses leading to B.Sc Applied Nautical Science, B.Sc Nautical Science, B.Sc Maritime Science)

    Candidates mustn’t have any degree of squint or any morbid eye (or eyelid) condition. The candidate must have good binocular vision, the movement of the balls should be full in all directions, while the pupils should react normally to light and accommodation.

    Distance vision (unaided 0.5 (6/12) in each eye or 0.67 (6/9) in the better eye and 0.33 (6/18) in another eye.

    Normal colour vision shall be tested by the Ishihara test chart.

    M.B.A

    The authority commenced the IMU CET 2026 registration on February 6, 2026.  The IMU CET application form was available on the official website, imu.edu.in. Candidates who met the minimum eligibility conditions could fill out the IMU CET application form. The application process comprised registration, form filling, uploading documents, payment of the IMU CET registration fee, and final submission. Candidates must submit the IMU CET 2025 application form before April 24, 2026. The steps to fill the IMU CET application form 2026 are as follows. 

    • Registration – The application process starts with registration, with the candidate having to register their name, phone number, and email; the last two items will be used by the Institute to communicate with the candidate. 
    • Filling of application form - Upon successful registration, the candidate will have to fill out the application form, which will have sections like personal, academic, and contact details.
    • Uploading of documents – The candidate will have to next upload scanned images of photograph and signature, and also other documents like a Class X Mark sheet as proof of date of birth, Class XII/ degree certificate (whichever is applicable), and category certificate. The uploaded documents are in the prescribed format only.
    • Payment of application fee – The application fee has to be paid in online mode.
    • Submission of application form – The candidate will have to finally check that the application form is complete in all respects before submitting it.

    Indian Maritime University will release the IMU CET third seat allotment 2026. The authority will conduct the IMU CET 2026 counselling registration likely from June 2026. Candidates who qualify for the IMU CET exam can participate in the counselling process. IMU CET counselling process comprises registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting to the allotted institute. Candidates who are allotted a seat in each of these rounds will have to pay the programme fee within the given deadline to confirm their seats. 

    Counselling registration fee: Short-listed candidates will have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 10,000 to participate in online counselling. 

    Admission fee: Any candidate who is allotted a seat in any of the seat allotment rounds will have to pay a non-refundable sum of Rs. 30,000 towards the programme fee as per the given schedule.
