I am a keralite but born and brought up in mumbai ..can i apply for keam 2019 ? If yes please guide me with the document process required

Candidates would be divided into 3 categories:

  1. Keralite
  2. Non-Keralite(Category 1)
  3. Non-Keralite(Category 2)

The candidate needs to be born in Kerala. He/She must possess domicile cerificate of Kerala. Wards of IAS officer, who are not born in Kerala, will be distinguished as ‘Deemed Keralites’. These applicants will be entitled to

No, Income certificate is not mandatory there.Documents they as during registartion are:

1. Identity proof (Aadhar card )

2. 10th and 12th standard marksheet.

3. Migration certificate

4. Caste certificate (for other than general category candidate )

5 Call letter they provide you through thier site or

Is birth certificate sufficient for proof of nativity?

Hi Aspirant

Birth Certificate prooves only  your nationality and not where you are currently staying or from where you are.

You need residential certificate to proove that you are resident of that particular state.

In any examination,while counselling you need to produce your residential certificate .Though birth certificate is also

Does it mean community certificate from other State will not have any impact for Non-Keralite Category I?

As per the KEAM prospectus, A candidate will be considered as 'Non-Keralite Category I' (NK I) if he/she is not of Kerala origin but fulfills anyone of the following conditions-


(a)  A candidate who has completed qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents belong to

Do we need to have new nativity certificate or we can use last years, for KEAM?

yes, you can use that certificate.  Nativity certificate holds lifelong validity.

Validity of nativity certificate in Kerala

To obtain nativity certificate from the Kerala Government, the following are the eligibility criteria: Resident of Kerala. Proof of continuous residence for five years or more.

Is there any problem if 12th mark sheets( 12th passed) is not uploaded during keam registration and can it be uploaded before march 31st ?

Hi Sharon, 

Generally the required documents are submitted after payment of the fee. Yes, you can  upload your documents and photographs before 31st March and don't forget to take a printed copy of your application form.

3.Income certificate

4.Nativity proof

5.Non creamy layer certificate(if you are in noncreamy layer) 

6.cast certificate for sc/St cansidates

7.certificate for other reservations,  if any

if you want to participate in KEAM counselling ,then you should have KEAM admit card.but they will allot seat or give admission based on your NEET UG score only.

I was unable to apply for KEAM , is there any other way to apply for BioMedical Engineering in government model college , thirakkara ?

Hello Anubhab,

KEAM is conducted by the Commissioner of Examination,Government of Kerala in the name of the state authorities for admissions to various colleges of the state that participate in KEAM. The exam will be conducted on April 28 and 29.
