i scored 102 marks in met phase ii exams and 425 marks in class 12th board exam. what are my likely options for the college and branch

kumardurgesh1802 14th May, 2025

Hello Sandeep,

With 102 marks in MET Phase II and 425 marks in Class 12th , here's an estimate of the colleges and branches you may get at Manipal University (both Manipal and Bangalore campuses):

Estimated MET Rank :

  • 102 marks in MET Phase II likely translates to a rank around 6,000 to 10,000 (based on past trends).

Likely Branches You Can Get :

  1. At Manipal University (Manipal Campus) :

    • Computer Science Engineering (CSE) : Rank cutoff may go up to 2,000–4,000 , so this might be tough to get, but try for the next year’s counseling rounds.

    • Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) : Could be available with a rank around 6,000–8,000 .

    • Information Technology (IT) : May be available around 6,000–8,000 .

    • Mechanical Engineering : Likely available with your rank.

    • Civil Engineering : A good chance for availability.

  2. At Manipal University (Bangalore Campus) :

    • CSE and IT : Likely cutoff around 5,000–8,000 ranks, making it competitive.

    • ECE : You may have a chance for ECE.

    • Mechanical Engineering : May be available with your rank.

      Additional Factors :

  • Management Quota : If you are open to management quota, the chances of getting your desired branch increase.

  • Counseling : It’s crucial to participate in the counseling process to maximize your chances of getting a preferred branch.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

I got 72 marks in 1st phae of MET in 2025. what should rank be expected?

Tanisha chaudhary 13th May, 2025

HEY THERE!!

With 72 marks in initial MET 2025 phase, your anticipated rank will most likely be in lower percentile range of 50th to 60th percentile or even lower depending on overall performance and difficulty that year.

Keeping in mind current trends and current data:

  1. 95 percentile in MET/MHT CET is around 100–110 marks.
  2. 80 percentile is approx. 90 marks.
  3. 50–70 marks usually puts you in the 50th to 60th percentile, which is generally equivalent to a rank in the lower half of all the test-takers.

So, what does this imply for you?

  1. With 72 marks, your ranking can be over 100,000 if the number of students taking the test is roughly the same as before (over 6 lakh test-takers), and you can most likely get admission in Tier-3 or lower-ranked schools, predominantly in streams such as Mechanical, Civil, or AI-DS.
  2. Admission to higher branches (such as CSE or IT) in elite colleges is out of the question at this score, since their cut-offs are far higher (usually over 130–160 marks).

Summary:

At 72 marks in MET 2025, you can look for a rank in the lower half (perhaps 150,000+ if 300,000+ candidates turn up), and you will qualify for lower-level colleges and branches. Real rank can differ depending on final score pattern and number of candidates.

i got 111 marks in MET 2025, What are the scope of admission at Manipal

Gregary mathew K.B 10th May, 2025

Congratulations on scoring 111 marks in MET 2025!

Based on trends from previous years, a score of 111 out of 240 is likely to place you in the rank range of approximately 4,500 to 8,000. While this may not be sufficient for admission into highly sought-after branches like Computer Science Engineering (CSE) at the Manipal main campus (which typically closes within the top 1,200 ranks), you still have good chances of admission into several other branches and campuses.

At Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal Campus , you may be eligible for the following branches:

  • Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering

  • Mechatronics

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Civil Engineering

These branches usually have higher cutoff ranks ranging from around 13,000 to 33,000.

At other Manipal campuses like Jaipur and Sikkim , you may even get Computer Science or IT-related branches, as the cutoffs there tend to be more flexible, sometimes extending up to ranks of 35,000 or more.

Your admission chances also depend on other factors like:

  • Your 12th board marks (which are normalized for ranking)

  • Seat availability during the various rounds of counseling

  • Category and reservation policies (if applicable) cuttoff

Hi, I have got 145 marks in MET, so which college and branch will I get at Manipal

Gregary mathew K.B 10th May, 2025

Congratulations on scoring 145 in MET 2025! Based on previous trends, a score like yours typically places you in the rank range of 1,000 to 1,100, which corresponds to an approximate percentile of 97%.

Potential Branches at MIT Manipal

With your estimated rank, you have strong prospects for admission into several sought-after branches at the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal . Based on past cutoff trends, you may be eligible for the following programs:

  • Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) : Typically closes around rank 1,600.

  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML) : Usually closes around rank 1,630.

  • Computer Science and Financial Technology : Generally closes around rank 2,320.

  • Information Technology (IT) : Often closes around rank 4,765.

  • Computer and Communication Engineering : Typically closes around rank 4,773.

Opportunities at Other Campuses

If you're open to exploring other campuses under the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), such as Manipal University Jaipur or Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) , you may also find excellent opportunities there.

It’s best to keep an eye on the official cutoff list once the results are declared and the counseling process begins to get more precise details.

I got 104 out of 240 in MET phase 1. Can I get Biotech if I get 80% in PCME?

Sujal Singh 5th May, 2025
With a score of 104 out of 240 in MET Phase 1 and an 80% in PCME, your eligibility for a Biotech seat will depend on the cutoff set by the institution. It is advisable to check previous years' trends and consult the official authorities for accurate guidance.

I got 95 marks out of 240 in MET exam, and I also got 98.6% in my 12th board examination. Is it possible to get CSE and/or AI

SUKRITI GUPTA 2nd May, 2025

It's difficult to say with absolute certainty whether you can get CSE (Computer Science Engineering) and/or AI (Artificial Intelligence) with your MET score of 95 out of 240 and 98.6% in your 12th board examination. Admission to Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) considers both your MET score and your 12th board marks.

Generally, for highly sought-after branches like CSE and AI, the competition is very high, and the cutoffs tend to be quite high as well. A score of 95 out of 240 in MET might correspond to a rank that is on the lower side for securing a top branch at the main Manipal campus.

Looking at past trends, for Computer Science Engineering and related specializations like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at MIT Manipal, the closing ranks in previous years have typically been within the top few thousand. While the exact marks for these ranks vary each year depending on the difficulty of the exam and the performance of other candidates, a score significantly higher than 95 has usually been needed to secure these seats at the main campus.

Your excellent 12th board percentage of 98.6% will definitely be an advantage, as Manipal University gives weightage to these marks in their admission process. However, the MET score is a crucial component.

Is 104 in MET Phase 1 enough to get admission in BTech Biotechnology in Manipal main campus?

SUKRITI GUPTA 30th Apr, 2025

It's difficult to definitively say if a MET Phase 1 score of 104 will be enough to guarantee admission to BTech Biotechnology at the Manipal main campus. Here's a breakdown of why and what factors are at play:

Manipal University doesn't publicly release exact cutoffs after Phase 1. Admission is based on the marks obtained in the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) and your 10+2 marks. They typically release a merit list after both phases of MET are concluded.

However, we can look at past trends and some general estimations. Based on previous years' MET score vs. rank analyses, a score around 100-120 might place you in a rank range of 4501 to 8000 or possibly even beyond .

Now, considering the BTech Biotechnology cutoff ranks for Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal (the main campus), the closing ranks in previous years have varied. For example, in 2024, the last round closing rank for BTech Biotechnology was around 23458 . In 2023, it was around 30017 , and in 2022, it was around 19919 .

Therefore, based on these past trends, a rank corresponding to a score of 104 in MET Phase 1 might be on the borderline or slightly below what has been required for BTech Biotechnology at the main campus in recent years.
