Will we able to give the MH CET test from home.(online mode)

ayanmukherjee045 22nd Apr, 2021

Dear aspirant,

As the covid situation is uncontrollable in Maharashtra and in this time it is impossible to conduct the offline the exam but still I don't think mhtcet will be conducted online because it is a very important exam for the engineering institutes in Maharashtra. It will be postponed.

My son will appear 10th CBSE from Kuwaitin 2021, I am planning for him to do his 11th & 12th from Maharashtra, will he be able to get admission through MHCET,is it is enough to have 11th and 12th from Maharashtra state to be eligible for MHCET.Appreciate your response. _

Hey!
Candidates should have passed SSC and also Diploma in Engineering or HSC or Bachelor of Science Exam from a recognised institution in the state ofMaharashtra. Candidate should either be aDomicileofMaharashtraand/or should be born inMaharashtra to avail the reservation for the Maharashtra state students. So I think that if you make your child study 11th and 12th standard from Maharashtra, that will not be enough. For more info you can visit the following link:

Others state candidate (Reserve Category ) shall be eligible for admission in B.Tech in Maharashtra through MHT CET

Karam Vir 22nd Dec, 2020

Hi,

Yes,candidates who do not belong to Maharastra state can also appear for the MHT CET. You can get admission into the engineering colleges in Maharashtra even if you are non-resident of Maharashtra. However, non-residents can just go for the private colleges under AIQ 15% quota. They cannot appear for the government and government aided colleges for the admission process through MHT CET.

hello, which rank is considered for admission through mht cet? i mean the state general merit rank or category rank? i belong to sc category..so will there be any benefits of category rank for admission?

DrTeeth 17th Dec, 2020

Hi. Your combined merit rank indirectly also determines your category rank, and both are of utmost importance. Lets take two examples:

1. There are 100 seats in your college of choice. There are 10 seats reserved for your category (SC in your case). Lets say your general combined rank is 110, and considering the total seats in your college, it is difficult for you to get a seat. But say your category rank is 9, you will easily get a reserved seat.

2. If your category rank was to be 11 but lets assume your general rank to be 90, you can secure a seat in the unreserved category too.

My son is Maharashtra born and also completed 10th from Maharashtra. Does he still need to have Domicile Certificate for MH-CET ?

Shruti Smaranika 16th Dec, 2020

Hello aspirant,

As your son had his birth in Maharashtra and also completed 10th from Maharashtra, so while the verification of the documents in MHT CET counselling the domicile certificate is not required. Candidates who are born in Maharashtra and also completed his/her 10th and 12th in Maharashtra itself, then for those candidates, domicile certificate is not required.

Hope, this information helps you.

Once a seat is allotted, is it necessary to report at the insitute where allotment is done or do we need to visit the Admission reporting centres?

Gaurav Kumar 9th Dec, 2020

Hello,

Since you have not told which entrance you are alking about so its difficult to tell during this cororna pandemic. Generally, after allotment of seat you have to physical report to the respective college. Like in this corona pandemic, i have heard only upsee candidates had to go for physical reporting.

Also you need to to go to the official website of your exam conduction body there you will find all the details.

hope this will help you

all the best!

1)i got 55 percentile i jee mains and 80 percentile in mhcet .best college i can get (from uttar pradesh general) cs/it only 2) i am from other state still can i fill Tfw ?

Anurag Khanna 9th Dec, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

See there is no 100% accurate method to calculate rank from percentile but if we go through previous years or very latest trends than on such percentile in MHT CET your rank is expected in the range of 19,001 – 32,000 and in JEE-Main your rank is expected to be in the range of 573996 - 400110. Note that this is not your exact rank because it might have slight variations to the actual rank.

You can check out complete details about Percentile Vs Rank for JEE-Main and MHT CET and cut-off for different colleges through MHT CET counselling from the links given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-percentile

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-rank

On such percentile and category you have good chances of getting some colleges with CSE/IT branch through MHT CET counselling according to previous year's cut-off. As we go through previous year's cut-off then it shows that you can get following colleges :-

  • Dr. D Y Patil Pratishthan's College of Engineering, Kolhapur - Computer Science and Engineering
  • Jagadamba Education Soc. Nashik's S.N.D. College of Engineering & Reserch, Nashik - Information Technology
  • Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Engineering and Research, Wanadongri - Computer Science and Engineering
  • Peoples Education Society's College of Engineering, Aurangabad - Computer Science and Engineering

To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your percentile and category you can use MHT CET or JEE-Main College Predictor because it will make you comfortable while choice filling in counselling :-
